| Location | Westoning, Bedfordshire, OS193.
The main purpose of this walk was to sit under my favourite oak and read
a bit. But the weather was gorgeous so I took some pictures too. |
| Weather | Sunny and unseasonably warm. | |

The first thing worth taking a picture of was some spilt fertiliser. I liked the colour and the texture.
Walking down the trail we get the usual fine view of Sharpenhoe in the distance. |

A little closer and it takes up much more of the picture. |
| On the north side of the bridleway an oak stands in a field. I liked the shadows on the trunk and the combination of the beige earth and the light blue sky. | ![]() |

In a thicket I found this bird skull.
It looks a bit like a duck's head to me. |

Poking around some more, I found some bricks overgrown by moss.
The moss made the bricks look deceptively soft. |

The oak on the right is my favourite oak. A very comfy seat can be had at the base of her trunk.
I really like this picture even if it's a bit odd. There should be something in the area that is framed by the oaks but there isn't so it fires my imagination. |

Near my favourite oak there's a gate post that doesn't fill any function any more. Here it is seen from the top. |
| On the side of the post sits this mysterious piece of rusted metal. | ![]() |

This fuzzy thistle was found on the new part of the bridleway.
It was a bit early but the unseasonably warmth had brought out a few sloe flowers. |

Here are a few more and some buds too.
The landscape here is pretty open. |

Some violets were basking in the evening sun.
Near Lower Sampshill Farm there's a duck pond. I wonder if the skull comes from one of its former inhabitants. |

Some cows were curious about what I was doing when taking the previous picture. |
The combination of grey and rust appealed to me. |

Just grey, this is a door to a barn. |
| At the end of the walk, I found these daffodils. | ![]() |

By the bench that I photographed last time I was here, the concrete had some interesting "graffiti".
